In golf, the only time one handles the club is when gripping it whilst getting ready to swing and aim for the hole. When one has the proper golf grip, one is assured that the face of the club be in line with the ball and allow one to make that perfect shot. Gripping a golf club right also allows one to be able to engage in the perfect swing that will allow one to hit the ball with the desired strength. It is therefore safe to say that the grip is the most important part in making a shot, as it is the one that will determine whether the club hits the ball or goes flying right out of one's hands. It is advised that, in order to get that proper golf grip, that one uses the fingers to grip the club rather than the wrist as it will allow for longer and smoother shots or tees. The three types of grips known are the interlock, the baseball, and the overlap. This is in reference to how both hands are placed on the club, with overlap meaning that the little finger is placed over the index finger on the hand around the club. The interlock meaning that one's pinky finger intertwines with the index finger on the other hand during the shot, and the baseball grip or the hammer grip where the hands do not connect during the shot and can be placed one above the other. It is said that no grip is considered better than the other is and that the player is the one that chooses what suits them. When one is gripping the club, one must ensure that the wrist is in direct line with the grip and this will allow for more control of the club and the swing. The V formation on the right hand when one is gripping the club needs to face the right shoulder while the left one should face the center of one's chest and this ensures that the grip is right and the tee will be long and easy. The hand that is at the top is known as the leading hand while the bottom hand is known as the trailing hand and this will depend on if one is right or left hander, or how one feels comfortable teeing. When one is gripping the club, one must ensure that the pressure exerted is not too much to allow the swing to be as natural and easy as possible, but at the same time, the wrists must be relaxed. It is advised that to imagine the perfect grip, one should picture holding a little bird in the hand. Should one develop blisters on their hands, then the grip must be re-evaluated as it means that it is not being done well. There are special golf gloves that have a series of dots drawn and these serve as a guide as to how one should grip the club. The proper golf grip and swing ensure a perfect shot.
